Exciting. Opportunity. Fun.

P|arts is dedicated to delivering fun educational workshops at a realistic cost.

Asked to sum up in three words our Hertfordshire heroes workshops, one year 6 student wrote “Exciting. Opportunity. Fun”.

Feedback from another set of workshops:
“This group of young writers and composers have thrived and matured through insights from Graham and Jenni  – looking at the way they approach storytelling, history, narratives and word-painting. Their projected outcomes are already inspirational.” – Jenny Warburton, Head of Performing Arts, Meridian School

Workshops

Jenni and Graham can help your students/visitors explore both the place where they live and their own creativity and can be tailored to particular age groups, including adults. Using music, words and history, these projects/workshops help participants to share their worlds.

Tailored creative writing and musical composition workshops (any age) – Graham and Jenni
Workshops can also be tailored to a particular museum or school’s requirements.

Alternatively, choose from one of our off-the-peg projects.

My place (two-hour workshop, suitable for all, Years 5-9) – Graham and Jenni
Students map places that are important to them using sounds and words to create a performance piece (soundscape and spoken word). Created using the sounds made by found objects, footsteps, vocalised noises etc, soundscapes are inclusive, and accessible to everyone.

Local heroes (2 two-hour workshops, for choirs/ensembles, Year 6+) – Graham and Jenni
Drawing on two 2-hour workshops, students collectively create their own song about an unsung local hero. See the Royston Crow webpage, for details of the workshops we delivered at King James Academy Royston. Also see the p|arts YouTube Channel to hear the resulting song. (Professional recording of the song produced is not included in the workshop fee, but this can be arranged at an extra cost.)

Everything changes
(two-hour workshop, year 6+, also GCSE English students)  – Graham
Creative Writing workshop based on local historical images. Please visit the Royston Museum facebook page, for details of the workshop Graham delivered there. This workshop may prove useful to those preparing for the Creative Writing element in the GCSE English exam. (This workshop does not have to be delivered at a museum and is also suitable for adults!)

Finding my place (two-hour workshop, years 8+) – Graham
Historical research / factual writing workshops. These standalone workshops can also act as a prequel/foundation to (and feed into) Local Heroes and My place, giving participants increased ownership of those projects.
